Xbox boss hints at new 360 controller.

Xbox boss Peter Moore hinted at a recent EA Community Event that Microsoft may be working on creating a simplified controller specifically designed to attract those intimidated by today's more complex controller.

Moore stated that Microsoft is looking for, "Any way that we can play and make games easier and more intuitive, that takes the intimidation factor away from what is a pretty complex device now when you look at the controller."

Moore even referenced the old Atari 2600 joystick saying, "Everybody could pick up and have some fun with. Clearly I think the Wii is trying to get back to those days, although when I picked it up I was surprised how much stuff is on there, and it took me a little while even then to get going on those things."

It no secret that Moore is a big fan of Nintendo's Wii adding that, "any innovation you can try and do that will make it a broader reach for games, because as an industry we've got to do that – we've got to bring more people in."

When asked what he has brewing back at Microsoft as a solution to today's complex controller Moore said, "We're doing a lot of stuff there," and added, "Nothing that we're ready to talk about."

Later Moore went on to state that the Xbox is, "not going to force anything that is not going to be intuitive and innovative" which gives the distinct impression that Microsoft would not follow the path of Nintendo and Sony's motion sensing controllers.
