Virtua Fighter 5 No Longer PS3-Exclusive

For the first time ever, a Virtua Fighter game will appear on three different platforms.  It was announced a long while ago that the next installment in Sega’s hyper-balanced, realistic fighting game series was going to appear on the PS3, after appearing initially in arcades, but Sega has announced that Virtua Fighter 5 is going to get ported to the Xbox 360.

The Xbox was the haven for fighting game fans who didn’t own a modded PS2, but the Xbox 360 hasn’t lived up to this, with only Dead or Alive 4 and Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting appearing thus far.  Virtua Fighter 5 will add one of the biggest fighting game series ever to a Microsoft console for the first time.  Xbox Live compatibility has not been confirmed, even though the PS3 version is going to have an online mode, though it is fairly safe to assume that this is going to happen on the 360.

Virtua Fighter 5 had its release date recently pushed back, and is expected to come in Summer 2007.
