SouthPeak Announces new XBLA/PC Game

SouthPeak Games has announced its first foray onto Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft with Things On Wheels (ToW). ToW is an accessible, pure arcade title placing players at the helm of radio-controlled ("RC") cars as they race through a gigantic Florida Art Deco house filled with "tracks" comprised of everyday household items – and more. Developed by experienced Xbox LIVE Arcade alumni Load Inc., ToW promises to deliver plenty of RC racing fun when released in summer 2008. ToW has also been confirmed for release on Windows-based PCs,

"Load Inc. wanted to do something brand new with the racing genre, and this really appealed to us," said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. "Competing with real life remote control cars is great fun, so why not do it in a videogame? ToW delivers the same reckless thrill."

Races in ToW take place on nonlinear tracks that go from room to room in an expansive house. Normal, everyday objects become obstacles and hazards for player's miniature vehicles to race through. Any challenge could have a player picking up speed in the straightaway of the foyer, dodging the searing coils of the electric stove, catching some air to clear a stack of magazines in the way, and thousands of other possibilities.

"ToW is what the Xbox LIVE Arcade community has been asking for since day one. It's a competitive racing game with bits of fun and lots of interactivity if you just want to goof around. After Mad Tracks, we had to concentrate on just racing, but always with a twist," said Denis Bourdain, big wig at Load Inc. "It's a fresh racing experience we built
on everything we've learned in the past 12 years, and it will rock you! We're very proud to be working with one of the sexiest publishers today. All of our developer friends are just plain jealous. SouthPeak rules!"

In January, SouthPeak Interactive, LLC and Global Services Partners Acquisition Corp. jointly announced that they have agreed to a business combination resulting in a new publicly held entity that will be called SouthPeak Interactive Corporation. The transaction will allow SouthPeak to access the public markets to accelerate its growth strategy and take advantage of strong industry growth trends.
