Sony Unveils Colossal Promo for Shadow of the Colossus in Europe

Apparently, the Colossi that populate the world of Shadow of the Colossus are still dwarves in comparison to Sony?s advertising pocketbook. In the United Kingdom, where the European release of Shadow of the Colossus draws nigh, Sony, with the assistance of PR agency Manning Gottlieb OMD, will host live demonstrations of the game, projected onto buildings in various cities. Such buildings include Baltic Flour Mill in Newcastle, Bristo Square in Edinburgh and other locations in Birmingham, Manchester and London.

The building projections will be 16 meters wide. Those who want to be humiliated in front of a live audience by the Colossi can secure transportation through the Making Waves company, and can practice in local bars before their public mortification. According to Faye McDowall, brand communications manager at Manning Gottlieb OMD, ?to play the game on 16 meter wide projections is a really interactive way of experiencing the sheer magnitude of the landscapes and the Colossi.? Not to mention a way of experiencing a sheer magnitude of embarrassment when a Colossus squishes you like a bug.
