Sega Genesis Making a Return?

With all the new technology gearing up to hit the shelves it can be refreshing to take a look back at what gaming once was.

The SEGA Genesis opened up new worlds to gamers with its release in 1989. SEGA of America hopes to tap into a generation's nostalgia with the SEGA Genesis Collection. The compilation will be released on the PS2 and PSP, and will feature over 30 titles, including classics like: Altered Beast, Phantasy Star, Golden Axe, and the original Sonic The Hedgehog.

The SEGA Genesis Collections looks to be more than a gathering of games with the inclusion of unlockables like: interviews with the original developers of some of the featured games, a museum of Genesis facts, and a collection of SEGA arcade games form the Genesis era.

The PSP – which will allow for wireless multiplayer games – and the PS2 versions will hit the shelves this fall.
