Schwarzenegger Gets a Bill

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will now find a bill on his desk to either sign of veto at his discretion. The bill requires a sign explaining the video game rating system to be posted by retailers in order for parents to be better informed. The bill came from Assembly member Leland Yee who’s been on a quest to change many aspects of how video games are sold in California. The bill has undergone several renditions before reaching Governor Schwarzenegger.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) is the video game rating system most commonly used and found on video game packages. There are 6 levels of ratings: EC for Early Childhood, E for Everyone, T for Teen, M for Mature, AO for Adults Only, and RP for Rating Pending.
