Sony Computer Entertainment of America’s senior Director of Corporate Communications, David Karraker, announced yesterday that the PSP has no plans for a redesign. In response to Sony’s U.K. Managing Director Ray Maguire’s suggestion of a new model in the works, Karraker stated, “Ray's comments… were made in the general context that almost all consumer electronics shrink over time as advances are made in the technology to shrink the components used in manufacture…We have not made any announcement regarding any new PSP hardware changes."
This information disappoints many PSP owners eager to trade in their current model for a small, slicker model. However, Karraker’s comments don’t rule out a redesign completely, therefore there is still hope… and a redesign is exactly what the PSP needs.
