A major selling point for the PSP was the ability to play movies, music and show pictures in addition to playing games. Unfortunately, all of these abilities were hampered because it could not play many formats that are commonly used. Luckily, Sony has finally decided to address these issues with its new PSP Media Manager a PC application that assists getting files off the computer and onto their PSP.
The PSP Media Manager supports many formats including .bmp, .jpg, .png and .tif for images. Video formats include: .mp4, .avi, .mpg, .mov and .wmv. Audio formats include: .mp3, .wav, and .avi.
The media manager is currently available as a download from the Sony Media Software site for $20. Later in the year a boxed version will be released as well.
