Lara Croft is a record holder

Everyone’s favorite Tomb Raider is now being recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the “Most Successful Human Videogame Heroine.” Even though the record sounds quite silly, Lara’s numbers certainly are not. Over the years, Lara Croft has sold 28 million games, over a billion dollars in merchandise sales, she’s graced over 200 magazine covers, and starred in two motion pictures.

On a related note, a demo for the new Tomb Raider: Legend is now available on Xbox Live for the 360. Gamers can get a handle on Lara’s new gadgets and Prince of Persia styled moves and puzzles. The short demo has Croft showing a lot of promise. Tomb Raider: Legend will be rated T for Teen, and is scheduled for a 4/11 release for PC, PSP, and all major consoles except the GC.
