Kid Icarus – of Myths and Monsters (GB) full play-through

The Kid Icarus franchise is a neglected Nintendo IP, only seeing a total of three games in the series: the original Kid Icarus on NES, the sequel Kid Icarus – Of Myths and Monsters on the original Gameboy, and Kid Icarus – Uprising on 3DS.

Out of these three titles, the Gameboy game is the most forgotten and probably least played. Currently available on the 3DS Virtual Console, Of Myths and Monsters is a different spin on the original game as it incorporates light RPG mechanics and a more zoomed in perspective. Spanning four worlds and four bosses, this Gameboy sequel is still fun and challenging to play today.

Released at the end of 1991, I originally received this game as a gift sometime in 1992 (probably for my birthday in the summer of 1992). I would have been about 9 years old when I originally played this game and finished it.  Now, here in 2018, I decided to replay this game from my childhood to relive some of the memories of gameplay, the music, and boss battles. Each of the segments below are broken up by world – four worlds = four videos.

Thanks for watching and let me know what you think. Did you play this game as a kid?  Any other classic games you want to see streamed?  Let us know in the comments below.

Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters – World 1

Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters – World 2

Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters – World 3

Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters – World 4.  Unfortunately, my game soft locked just as I beat the final boss and was unable to see the ending!  Mega bummer! Grrrrr!
