ESPN NBA 2K5 picks Ben Wallace for cover

ESPN Videogames announced today that they have selected Ben Wallace to grace the cover of their upcoming ESPN NBA 2K5. Being developed by Sega’s in-house Visual Concepts studio, the game is slated to ship this November at the budget price of $19.99 for both the Playstation 2 and Xbox.

“Big” Ben Wallace is a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year for the Detroit Pistons. “I have been in their television commercials for the past two years, so I was honored when they asked me to appear on the cover of ESPN NBA 2K5,” he said.

This is a change in direction for Sega. Philadelphia 76er point guard Allen Iverson was the last remaining cover athlete on their 2K sports lineup to have remained with them since their inception.

The main addition to this year’s game is something that ESPN calls “reactive court sense,” which will allow players to independently react to their opponents’ actions. Check back here at MyGamer for more information on this game soon.
