Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Goes Gold

The console version of EA?s Battlefield 2 has just gone gold. Graphically the Xbox and PS2 versions of the game will take a step back, but both systems will support up to 24 players at once in online multiplayer. The game will have modern armory and over 30 vehicles for gamers to choose from. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat will also feature a full single player campaign mode. This mode will take advantage of the game?s ?hotswapping? dimension which allows the player to take control of different characters on-the-fly. There will be four chief factions in the game: the United States, a fictitious Middle Eastern Coalition, the European Union, and China.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for the Xbox and PS2 is scheduled for a release date of October 24th with an ESRB rating of T for teen. An Xbox 360 version is planned for release later this year.
