AGEIA and BioWare join forces.

AGEIA Technologies, Inc. announced that it will be combining AGEIA PhysX™ technology into its next-generation BioWare Eclipse Engine™ for use in developing games for PC and next generation consoles. AGEIA was chosen by BioWare for “it's unmatched physics capabilities and its straightforward implementation across multiple platforms”according to the press release provided by AGEIA. The use of this processor in the PCs of gamers who own one will notice vastly improved hardware-accelerated physics that will appear in the upcoming release of BioShock's Dragon Age as well as other PC games that the company will be developing.

Representatives from each of the companies involved offered statements on this deal. First up was Ray Muzyka, the CEO of Bioware, who said that “There’s no reason to reinvent the wheel when you have a world-class, easy-to-implement physics solution such as AGEIA PhysX technology” and that “AGEIA PhysX will deliver mind-blowing physics action for games using BioWare’s next-generation game engine.” Also making an appearance on the virtual reviewing stand today is Greg Stoner, who happens to be the vice president of of business development at AGEIA, and also has something to say. Here it is: “BioWare is synonymous with top-quality games and has an unparalleled relationship with its gamer community. We’re extremely proud that they have chosen AGEIA PhysX technology to power the physics component of their much-anticipated next-gen game engine.”

And so are we, I'm sure. Well, that's all from me right now, but keep checking back right here at MyGamer for any and all future developments.
